Rehab and Design is a self-perform contractor doing multifamily and public-housing rehabilitation across the NYC metro area, largely in occupied buildings. We are hiring skilled Carpenters to perform rough and finish carpentry on kitchen, bath, and unit renovations — working cleanly and respectfully in buildings where residents remain in place.

Key Responsibilities

• perform rough and finish carpentry: framing, blocking, furring, drywall/sheetrock, doors, frames, hardware, trim, and base.
• install cabinets, countertops, millwork, and shelving — including our in-house fabricated millwork and cabinetry.
• read and work from plans, shop drawings, and specifications; lay out and measure accurately.
• perform demolition and prep as needed and keep occupied work areas clean, safe, and protected.
• safely operate hand and power tools; maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• work to punch-list quality standards and support the schedule set by the superintendent.
• follow all site safety requirements and company procedures.

Qualifications Required

• 3+ years of professional carpentry experience (rough and/or finish).
• Ability to read tape measures, plans, and basic drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Own basic hand tools and know how to use power tools safely.
• OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred) and, for NYC sites, a valid SST card (or ability to obtain).
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Preferred

• Experience in occupied multifamily or public-housing (NYCHA) renovation.
• Cabinet and finish/millwork installation experience.
• References (personal and professional).
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders and stairs, and work on your feet throughout the shift, with appropriate personal protective equipment.

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage based on experience [insert rate]; prevailing wage applies on public/certified-payroll projects. Steady, year-round pipeline of work.
