Entry Level Mechanic

We are currently seeking an entry to mid-level mechanic to join our company. The mechanic must be able to efficiently perform routine maintenance and repairs, be team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of service. A large portion of this job will be keeping our fleet up-to-date with regular services. Skips has over 100 pieces of equipment at various ages.

Responsibilities (as qualified):

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment
• Perform vehicle and equipment inspections
• Perform tire changes, brake repairs, oil changes and lubrication work
• Communicate to the President or other supervisors when additional repairs are needed or when repairs cannot be completed in a scheduled time frame
• Properly document all work performed
• Perform all work safely in a fast-paced work environment
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the shop
• Complete tasks and errands as directed by supervisors

Requirements :

• At least 2 year of experience as a mechanic maintaining vehicles and equipment (preferably experience working on diesel equipment and trucks)
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Must have the ability to lift objects up to sixty pounds
• Basic knowledge and use of office equipment and general computer skills
• Knowledge and use of mechanical repair tools and equipment. Shop tools will be provided by the company.
• Degree / schooling in mechanic work preferred

Compensation:

• Starts at $20-$24 per hour. Starting pay is dependent on previous experience.
• Health/Dental/Vision Insurance (after 90 days)
• Unlimited overtime
• 401(k) (after one full year)
• Uniforms provided with laundered service
