Hatchery Worker

Main responsibilities

This integral role involves various tasks within the hatchery process, ensuring the well-being of poultry and contributing to the overall success of our operations.

• Egg Management: Monitor and maintain optimal conditions for eggs in incubators.
• Incubation Oversight: Manage the incubation process, maintaining specified temperature and humidity levels.
• Hatching Assistance: Monitor and assist in the hatching process, providing timely intervention when necessary.
• Chick Care: Handle and transfer chicks with care to appropriate areas.
• Health Checks: Conduct basic health inspections on chicks, promptly addressing any abnormalities.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of hatch rates, incubation conditions, and observations.
• Sanitization: Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, incubators, and work areas.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain a smooth workflow.
• Adherence to Protocols: Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure hatchery operations meet high standards.
• Communication: Report any issues or deviations from standard procedures to the supervisor promptly.

 

About you

• Applicants MUST be able to provide a five year work history
• Due to the nature of the role,  it is necessary to have full colour vision.  You will be required to take a colour blindness test
• Capable of working with minimum supervision
• Personable and friendly.
