The HR Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees across Elliot's shared services functions, helping align people strategies with business objectives. This role partners closely with department leaders to support employee relations, performance management, talent development, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
The HR Business Partner plays a key role in delivering a consistent employee experience, supporting company policies and programs, and driving HR initiatives that enhance engagement, retention, and business performance. This position collaborates across departments and acts as a strategic partner to both leaders and employees throughout the employee lifecycle.
A Day in the Life:
- Serve as a trusted HR partner and resource to leaders and employees across assigned shared services departments.
- Coach leaders on performance management, employee engagement, development planning, retention strategies, and workplace concerns.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, policy violations, corrective actions, and terminations.
- Partner with leaders to identify workforce challenges and develop practical talent solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Support organizational planning, workforce forecasting, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
- Assist leaders in navigating company policies, employment practices, and HR procedures while promoting consistency and compliance.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support recruiting efforts, interviewing, hiring decisions, and onboarding activities.
- Partner with leaders to identify training and development opportunities that strengthen employee capabilities and support career growth.
- Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to identify opportunities related to engagement, retention, productivity, and performance.
- Provide guidance and coaching to employees regarding career development and growth opportunities.
- Support compensation planning, performance review processes, talent reviews, and organizational change initiatives.
- Partner with leaders and employees to drive engagement initiatives and strengthen company culture.
- Gather employee feedback and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to HR leadership.
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence and corporate HR teams to implement company-wide programs and initiatives.
- Promote compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and procedures.
- Recommend improvements to HR processes, tools, and programs that enhance effectiveness and the employee experience.
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Five or more years of progressive Human Resources, People Services, or related experience supporting leaders and employees in a business-facing role.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, talent development, employment policies, and employment laws.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, coach leaders, manage difficult conversations, conduct investigations, and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate across teams, leverage workforce data, and translate company-wide programs into practical regional action.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region and occasionally to other Elliot locations.
- Experience as an HR Business Partner, People Business Partner, HR Manager, or similar role supporting a regional, field-based, construction, industrial, or multi-location workforce preferred.
- Experience partnering with corporate HR or People Services teams to implement enterprise-wide initiatives preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-state operations preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification preferred.
