Piper Fire Protection is seeking a motivated Installation Technician Helper to join our Clearwater, FL team. This is a physically active, entry-level role supporting the installation of fire alarm systems on new construction and retrofit projects across the Clearwater, Florida region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the Fire Protection/low-voltage/life safety industry, with on-the-job training and a growth path in the industry. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on worker willing to learn & develop in the trade.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Assist Technicians with the installation of fire alarm and low voltage system components, including mounting devices and panels.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Pull cable and run conduit through attics, crawl spaces, ceilings, and other confined or hard-to-access areas.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Perform manual labor tasks such as drilling, fishing wire, and mounting equipment.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Support material staging, tool organization, and jobsite setup/cleanup to keep installations on schedule.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Assist with basic wiring and terminations as directed and trained by senior technicians.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards, including proper use of PPE, ladders, and lifts.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Learn to read basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device layouts under the guidance of senior staff.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Communicate professionally with Lead Technicians, Project Managers, and site contacts.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Perform other related duties as assigned to support project completion.</li>
</ul>
Required Skills & Qualifications
<ul>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">High School Diploma or GED required.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Prior experience in general labor, construction, or a related trade; Fire Alarm or low-voltage industry experience a plus.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work safely as part of a team.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Basic familiarity with hand and power tools.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Willingness to learn low-voltage systems, tools, and industry terminology.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Reliable attendance and punctuality.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:

<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain).</li>
</ul><div class="content-conclusion">This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
