Role Description

The Laborer (Union) position is a full-time, on-site role working on heavy civil construction projects throughout Northeast Ohio. This position is open to Laborers Local 860 members, or those able to obtain membership.

You will work alongside experienced pipe and site crews installing storm, sanitary, water, and fireline utilities, and support earthwork, grading, and site development. Day-to-day responsibilities include pipe laying, bedding and backfill, trench support, material handling, and general site labor according to project plans and direction from field supervision.

Laborers follow all company, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements and work closely with operators, foremen, and other trades to keep projects running efficiently.

Compensation

• Competitive union-scale compensation per the applicable collective bargaining agreement

• Full-time, year-round work
• Consistent hours with a growing heavy civil contractor

Qualifications

• Laborers Local 860 member in good standing, or able to obtain membership
• Experience on heavy civil, underground utility, excavation, or site development projects preferred
• Experience working around water, sanitary sewer, and storm utilities is a plus
• Willingness and ability to perform physical work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety and compliance with OSHA and company requirements
• Dependable, punctual, and an effective team member around crews and equipment
• Reliable transportation to project locations throughout Northeast Ohio; valid driver’s license preferred
