Flynn Calgary is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting company tools, small equipment, and job-site machinery to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for operation.

Day in the Life:
Equipment Repair & Maintenance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and small engine equipment issues
- Troubleshoot and repair both large and small construction, industrial, and job-site equipment
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery
- Inspect and repair hand tools, power tools, and specialty equipment used by field crews
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications and safe operating standards
- Order and manage parts required for repairs and maintenance
Small Engine Servicing
- Service, maintain, and overhaul small engines used on pumps, generators, power tools, and other job-site equipment
Tool Repair
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment accessories
- Ensure tools are safe, operational, and available to support field operations
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine safety inspections on tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation
- Complete service reports detailing repairs performed and parts replaced
- Keep all required paperwork current and up to date
General Support
- Use hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively
- Perform general labour duties as required
- Provide equipment support to field operations
What We Are Seeking:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Experience diagnosing engine, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system faults
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of large and small construction, industrial, and job-site equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment repair experience
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, safety-focused mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Small Engine Technician Certification is considered an asset
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certification is considered an asset
Summary
The Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing engine faults, repairing hydraulic systems, maintaining small engines, and repairing a wide range of tools and equipment used in construction operations. The successful candidate will support shop and field operations through preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, safety inspections, documentation, and operational support while contributing to Flynn's culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence.
