Summary: HII Mission Technologies is seeking a talented Microsoft Power BI Developer to join our innovative data and analytics team! In this position, you'll collaborate closely with customers and technical partners to design, build, and optimize Power BI models, reports, and dashboards that bring clarity and impact to mission-critical information. What You Will Do: • Primary focus on business intelligence and reporting technologies/methodologies • Identify data to clean, transform, and load into data models • Create data models, establish relationship cardinality and cross‑filter direction, and build complex measures • Visualize data models by creating reports and dashboards • Assist in the delivery of quality solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) and related technologies • Partner with OIG customers and OCIO technical team members to assist with requirements definitions, solution designs, technical architecture, and delivery • Work collaboratively with team members including project managers, solution architects, and business analysts What We're Looking For: 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen • Implement solutions using Microsoft Power BI tool suite and related technologies • Proficient in developing complex Data Analytics Expressions (DAX) and M (Power) Queries • Experience with developing interactive dashboards (parameters, actions, navigation) for ease of use • Experience creating dataflows or datamarts • Experience designing composite models • Experience applying roles and Row Level Security (RLS) to reports, apps, and workspaces • Experience with Report Builder and developing paginated reports • Leverage database systems including data warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial, and operational analysis and/or reporting • Develop high‑performing, reliable, and scalable solutions • Optimize performance on new and existing data models and clearly communicate technical details to business and management staff • Perform data analysis to support and enhance OIG information management systems and services • Experience with one or more data technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Server, etc.) and willingness to learn additional technologies to improve business intelligence • Author and oversee design documents for approved projects • Develop, publish, and schedule reports, dashboards, scorecards, data exploration, and visual analytics using existing and emerging tools • Provide meaningful feedback and coaching to team members in the use of Microsoft Power BI and related technologies • Provide insight and recommendations on new and emerging technologies and concepts to OCIO team members • Eager to contribute to a team‑oriented environment • Able to work creatively and analytically in a problem‑solving environment • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Section III: Experience • 4+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence and/or information management • 2+ years of experience with data visualization and implementing high‑value solutions; experience performing administrative activities across multi‑environment infrastructures • 2+ years of experience working in a client‑facing technical role • Expert knowledge of data management, business intelligence, and analytics concepts including: o Extract, transform, load (ETL) o Data warehousing, data marts, data stores, and cubes o Data quality and profiling o Data governance, data management, and metadata management o Data visualization, dashboard design/implementation, reporting, self‑service BI, data KPIs, and scorecards o Predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics • Proficiency in one or more languages such as: o SQL o SAS o R o Python Preferred Experience: Demonstrated experience with medallion architecture, Databricks, and/or experience with sensitive law enforcement and case management data. Experience with Government software development policies and procedures • Experience integrating customized automated solutions using PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Dataverse with Power BI Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field OR possess a PL300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Certification or equivalent #LI-SF1 The listed salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities.
