Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is seeking an experienced, results-driven Operations Manager to lead and scale our growing residential plumbing operation in the Coachella Valley.

We are looking for a hands-on leader with extensive plumbing industry experience, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to grow revenue, develop high-performing technicians, improve profitability, and deliver exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Profitability

• Drive monthly revenue growth, gross margins, profitability, and technician productivity.
  
  
• Manage operational P&L performance, budgets, labor costs, materials, and controllable expenses.
  
  
• Improve average ticket, close rates, revenue per technician, and revenue per truck.
  
  
• Coach technicians on ethical selling, presenting repair and replacement options, and maximizing legitimate service opportunities.
  
  
• Review unsold estimates and implement follow-up strategies to increase sales.
  
  

Leadership & Field Operations

• Lead, coach, train, and hold plumbing technicians and operational personnel accountable.
  
  
• Oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
  
  
• Provide technical guidance, oversee complex jobs, conduct field inspections, and ensure quality workmanship.
  
  
• Optimize dispatching, scheduling, job completion, and technician utilization.
  
  
• Maintain high safety standards and reduce callbacks and warranty expenses.
  
  

Service Titan & Performance Management

• Utilize Service Titan to manage operations, track KPIs, review technician performance, and identify revenue opportunities.
  
  
• Monitor sales conversion, average tickets, completed jobs, memberships, estimates, and operational efficiency.
  
  
• Maintain accurate job documentation, reporting, dashboards, and performance scorecards.
  
  

Inventory, Fleet & Client Experience

• Manage warehouse inventory, truck stock, purchasing, tools, and equipment.
  
  
• Oversee fleet maintenance, vehicle appearance, and operating expenses.
  
  
• Develop supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and control material costs.
  
  
• Resolve client concerns, improve customer satisfaction, and build lasting referral relationships.
  
  
• Develop and implement processes that support efficient, profitable business growth.
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in the plumbing industry.
  
  
• Proven success managing residential plumbing service operations and field technicians.
  
  
• Demonstrated ability to increase revenue, improve gross margins, and control costs.
  
  
• Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, job costing, and operational KPIs.
  
  
• Experience coaching technicians on sales performance, customer engagement, and technical excellence.
  
  
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  
  
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and take ownership of results.
  
  
• Valid driver's license.
  
  

Highly Preferred:

• Strong hands-on experience with Service Titan CRM.
  
  
• Experience managing or scaling a plumbing business.
  
  
• Prior plumbing field experience or advanced technical plumbing knowledge.
  
  
• Experience with flat-rate pricing, technician scorecards, and service sales coaching.
  
  
• Experience building operational systems, SOPs, training programs, and performance-based teams.
