The Regional HR Business Partner connects Elliot-wide Human Resources strategies with regional workforce needs. This role partners with leaders and employee-owners to implement HR programs, support a consistent employee experience, and strengthen Elliot as an employer of choice.
The Regional HR Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor on employee relations, talent development, workforce planning, and HR initiatives while acting as the key connection between regional operations and the broader Human Resources team. This position helps ensure consistent practices, supports organizational growth, and promotes a positive employee-owner experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
A Day in the Life:
- Serve as a trusted partner and resource to regional leaders, managers, and employee-owners on employee relations, performance, talent, and other HR-related matters.
- Coach leaders on performance management, engagement, development, retention, and workplace concerns while promoting consistent and fair practices.
- Address employee concerns, workplace conflicts, investigations, documented actions, terminations, and other employee relations matters, involving Human Resources when appropriate.
- Build strong relationships across the region and connect leaders and employee-owners with the right Human Resources resources.
- Partner with Human Resources to develop, communicate, and implement company-wide programs, processes, and initiatives.
- Execute company-wide HR programs within the region while considering local business needs and state-specific requirements.
- Provide regional feedback, identify implementation challenges, and recommend improvements to HR programs and tools.
- Partner with leaders to identify development needs and connect employees with learning resources and growth opportunities.
- Support leadership development, performance coaching, succession planning, internal mobility, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Assist employee-owners in understanding career growth opportunities, including technical growth, lateral development, and people leadership pathways.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and regional leaders to support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and hiring processes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the employee-owner experience from recruitment through offboarding.
- Gather employee and leader feedback and communicate regional trends, concerns, risks, and opportunities to the Human Resources team.
- Partner with Communications & Branding and Employee Wellness & Community Engagement teams to support communication, recognition, employee programs, and community involvement efforts.
- Promote compliance with employment laws, company policies, and established HR processes.
- Monitor workforce metrics including hiring, turnover, retention, employee relations trends, leave activity, and development needs.
- Recommend practical improvements to HR processes, tools, resources, and programs.
- Stay informed on employment law developments and share relevant updates with leaders and the Human Resources team.
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel throughout the assigned region up to 50% of the time to maintain a strong presence with leaders and employee-owners, support field operations, conduct investigations, facilitate training, and strengthen workforce engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Five or more years of progressive Human Resources, People Services, or related experience supporting leaders and employees in a business-facing role.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, talent development, employment policies, and employment laws.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, coach leaders, manage difficult conversations, conduct investigations, and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate across teams, leverage workforce data, and translate company-wide programs into practical regional action.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region and occasionally to other Elliot locations.
- Experience as an HR Business Partner, People Business Partner, HR Manager, or similar role supporting a regional, field-based, construction, industrial, or multi-location workforce preferred.
- Experience partnering with corporate HR or People Services teams to implement enterprise-wide initiatives preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-state operations preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification preferred.
