    Responsibilities

    We are seeking a full-time professional to join our growing team as a Shop Technician.  The ideal candidate will be a self-driven ‘go-getter’ who loves to tinker and make ‘things’ work.  The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering on our service promise to our technicians in the field and our customers visiting our facility.  The candidate will ensure that fire protection equipment is properly serviced, calibrated and in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal code.  


    General Duties

    • Perform Fire Extinguisher testing, repair and re-charging of various extinguisher types
    • Conduct mandated internal cylinder inspections and hydrostatic testing as required in accordance with local, state, and federal codes
    • Assist with periodic equipment calibrations and maintenance as needed
    • Record and document fire extinguisher inspections, repairs, discrepancies and provide recommendations as needed
    • Operate and calibrate specialty equipment for performance of hydrostatic cylinder testing and re-filling
    • Assist with the coordination of equipment for daily work assignments supporting Field Services and Repair/Installation Teams
    • Assist with inventory, procurement and fleet management
    • Work collaboratively with other team members, provide stellar service to walk-in customer
    • Consult and advise customers regarding potential fire safety of their equipment
    • Other general duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

    Ideal Candidates Requirements

    • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, a must
    • Oregon Fire Extinguisher, a great plus
    • ICC Extinguisher certification, a great plus 
    • Attention to details, ability to maintain timely and precise documentation, a must
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills
    • Comply with safety requirements and promote safe working practices, required
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision
    • Carry, move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Clean driving record and current driving license, required
